4 Must Singapore Hawker Food Eats and Chinatown Complex

by Feb 26, 2019

What do you mean they are closing?

They are doing some building work for the next couple months.

Chinatown Complex tl;dr

  • Closed From March 1st to May 31st
  • Time For Some Renovations
  • Eat Our Favorites Now

Singapore is a constantly changing place, ever growing, ever adapting, ever improving itself to better serve everyone. Every one, everything place, everything needs a little quality time to fix and change things. Chinatown Complex isn’t an exception to that.

Very soon at the start of March, all the floors of Chinatown Complex will close till the end of May for planned renovations. That means that if you were accustomed to eating that particular soy sauce chicken rice or drinking at that particular hawker, you’ll have to satisfy your cravings till they open back up.

But all good turns deserves another; so when you come back in June you’ll hopefully find everything you come to expect but better in the form of the infrastructure there. Hopefully it will not be limited to only tiles, fans, or minor improvements but actually expand upons the very high quality of life Chinatown Complex provides.

Some of Our Chinatown Complex Favorites

Salted Egg Fish Skin Huat Huat Singapore 02

Must Eat | SALTED EGG FISH SKIN

Salted Egg Fish Skin! I know it’s a hit or miss with most people, but this dish is typically a crowd please. They serve it hot and fresh to you.

Dumpling Meal Zhong Guo La Mian Xiao Long Bao Singapore

Must Eat | XLB

Full bursting XLB flavor at a fraction of the cost of bigger names. Keep in mind they are closed Monday and Tuesday!

Satay and Sauce Shi Xiang Satay Singapore

Must Eat | SATAY

This is right next to a beer hawker and a salted egg fish skin spot that goes well together along with pitchers of beer. We argue whether this is the best satay in Singapore. You can join the debate after eating your fill. Don’t forget to dip your stick in the pineapple peanut sauce.

3 Pitchers of Beer On Tap Singapore

Must Drink| CRAFT BEER

Great tasting, locally made beer on tap at probably the cheapest price for a pitcher of beer around.

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be heading there tomorrow to chow down on my favorite snacks and meals. And then washing it all down with all the beer offerings! I’ll also probably stumble onto a plate of something new while I’m there!

You're going to eat, you might as well eat something tasty.
