5 Day Weeklong Trip to Bandung
“What’s on the schedule for Bandung?”
“Thought we’d do a tour to the countryside, and do some outlet shopping!”
Trip to Bandung tl;dr
- Currency 1 USD = 13,450 Indonesian Rupiah
- Weather Typically Cooler For Southeast Asia
- Lots of Tourists From Neighboring Cities and Countries
1st Day | Pasteur
- 5:00 pm: Changed some currency for the trip
- 7:20 pm: Leave Singapore for Bandung, Indonesia
- 8:15 pm: Arrive at Husein Sastranegara International Airport
- 8:20 pm: Grab a ride to the hotel
- Uber and Grab aren’t allowed to pick up at the airport
- There’s ways around not using a taxi at the airport
- 9:30 pm: Check in to Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur
- Less than 4 km away from the airport but took more than 1 hour due to traffic
- 9:55 pm: Had dinner at Raja Sunda across the street
Day 2 | Jawa Barat Bandung
- 10:00 am: Decided to pack up our stuff and have our luggage held while we went to Rumah Mode Outlet Factory
- Zara
- NorthFace
- Hugo
- J Crew
- Superdry
- etc
- 12:10 pm: Had lunch at Rumah Mode
- Ate chicken dishes and a lovely avocado and oreo coffee drink
- 3:30 pm: Went to Paris Van Java Mall for more shopping
- Daiso was not that extensive
- Paris Van Java is a large mall
- Had Mango Smoothie and Sour Sally Gold Soft Serve
- Opted for a $30,000 IDR 3gb sim card
- Getting a Grab ride out was very difficult
- 6:45 pm: Went back to the Holiday Inn and checked out
- Transfer to the Crowne Plaza Bandung
Day 3 | Cikahuripan
- 7:00 am: Had breakfast at the Crowne Plaza Members Lounge
- 8:00 am: Picked up by tour guide
- Drove up to Tangkuban Perahu Volcano
- Windy is an understatement
- Hiked down to Domas Crater
- Avoided the “hustle”
- Stopped by Kopi Luwak Sawarga for some coffee
- Learned a lot about Civet Cats and male / female coffee beans
- Slowly crawled to the Floating Market because of all the traffic
- Buy tokens to purchase foods
- 7:30 pm: Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Members Lounge
- Too tired to look for food
- There was already food and beer waiting for us
Day 4 | Sugihmukti
- 7:00 am: Breakfast in the Crowne Plaza Members Lounge
- 8:00 am: Pickup for our tour
- Took pictures at the Tea Fields
- Walked around the Lakeside Glamping
- Had lunch in the Glamping Boat
- Stopped for a picture at a strawberry field
- Got scared of the unguarded heights of the Old Train Bridge
- Stopped at Kartika Sari for some baked goods
- 4:30 pm: Got dropped off at the outlets
- 6:30 pm: Walked down Braga Street for some local culture
- 7:00 pm: Walked around Cihampelas Walk for last minute shopping
- 8:00 pm: Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Members Lounge
- Too tired to look for food
- There was already food and beer waiting for us
- 9:30 pm: Foot massages at Everyday Spa
- 10:00 pm: There was a lot of security, police and military at the hotel.
- Turns out the Indonesian President was at the hotel
Day 5 | Jawa Barat Bandung
- 6:00 am: Due to the President’s stay, we left early to avoid any complications
- 8:40 am: Leave Bandung’s Husein Sastranegara International Airport
- 11:20 am: Arrive in Singapore’s Changi New Terminal 4
Great time learning as much as possible in the small amount of time that we had there. Hopefully we will go back to explore some more of what Bandung has to offer!
