Breakfast, the food of champions! It starts your day with all the energy your morning may demand but more importantly it’s a great way to wake up. And you know what makes it even tastier? SPAM!
Some argue that perhaps SPAM is a Hawaiian delicacy while others may say it’s bad for your health, but I think we can all agree that it’s tasty. It can be cooked with so many things and has been in breakfast dishes around the world!
Typically, when Nadia and I go to a new destination we love to explore the grocery store to get a feel for the local flavors. And imagine my surprise when I came upon this section of Foodland that contained the Holy Land of processed meats! There’s so many different flavors of Spam that I just stood there, mouth agape, trying to figure out how many different ones I could eat before my body would shut down from the flood of fat, sugar and salt.
What is It
SPAM is what some may call the breakfast food of the Gods! It’s made with 7 ingredients:
- Pork with Ham
- Potato Starch
- Sodium Nitrite
- And LOVE!
There’s so many flavors that I was previously unaware of but now I’ve seen the light and it’s blinding.
- Pumpkin Spice
- Less Sodium
- With Real Hormel Bacon
- Oven Roasted Turkey
- Hickory Smoke
- Hot and Spicy
- Black Pepper
- With Portuguese Sausage Seasoning
- With Cheese
Try one or try them all! Either way SPAM will never be the same!
You mentioned 20 flavors but listed only 17. I have found Maui Snow and Boricua. I did see a Japanese version. Not sure what exactly the flavor would be but the label says “SPAM Hormel Foods International Japanese 20% Less Sodium 30% Less Fat. What are the other 3 flavors you didn’t mention?
Sorry for the delayed reply, I had a newborn and have occupied. As for the other flavors, I wish I could tell you. The 20 flavors is what I found online BUT on the Spam website 17 is all that they listed.
All these 76 years as a Canadian I have been cheated out of enjoying the wide variety of Spam. I have only ever had one flavour.
there are options out there, though they may be harder to find depending on which market you live in.
