Elephants of Chai Lai Orchid

From what I’ve seen around the world, the elephants of Chai Lai Orchid are both bane and blessing for the humble hotel of Chiang Mai.

When you stay at Chai Lai, be prepared to do anything and everything elephants! If you’re not an elelphant lover before, you will be after!

One particular selling point of staying at the Chai Lai Orchid is the elephant morning wake up call that enchanted us upon hearing about it.

In the hills you’ll find villages of indigenous people who have so much culture to offer. You might even be able to make your own souvenir!

Chai Lai Orchid’s kitchen is actually the Phutawan Cafe across the river from the hotel; Nadia and I personally enjoyed eating there!

During the dry season, Chiang Mai’s water levels can be lower than expected but that doesn’t mean you can’t cool off if you look hard enough.
