Eat Breakfast at Singapore’s Group Therapy
Is this an exercise class or something?
Yeah, if by exercise class, you mean breakfast.
Group Therapy tl;dr
- Tanjong Pagar Backstreet
- Between Shops, Located on the 2nd Floor
- Both Healthy and Not So Healthy Options for Everyone
During the day, there seems to be only a handful of types of people in Tanjong Pagar:
- Office Workers
- Gym Rats
Oddly, the one thing they have in common other than TP itself, is the food.
I don’t fit in any of those categories. I’m actually the exact opposite:
I’m out at night drinking
Eating dinner and drinking
At any given time you’ll see all types of people going up and down roads passing the time away eating. Last place I expected to find myself was climbing a set of stairs for breakfast in the street next to where I went drinking. But then again, why not?
Where Is It
If you stand in the middle of Tanjong Pagar, close your eyes and spin yourself… You’ll eventually find this place. Honestly, there are a ton of venues that cater to every flavor. But off to the side on Duxton Road, you’ll find Group Therapy on the 2nd floor of what looks to be an old school long shophouse.
What to Eat
Group Therapy screams out delicious breakfast items; everything from heavier pancake dishes to light sandwiches and everything in between. When we arrived, we were in time for the weekend brunch and ordered:
- Smoked Ham and Cheese Croissant
- Special of the Day Stew with Cheesy Bread
The dishes were good and solid breakfast meals that hit the spot. They had a good flavor that made the afternoon flyby with friends and good conversation; the good food was already taken care of.
I think I’ll have to schedule another visit to work out some….
I see that there are some Group Therapy lunch deals and dessert after hours throughout the week. Be sure to checkout the brunch menu on the weekends too, if you’re in the area.
