Celebrating anything is always a great reason to go out and indulge in some fine dining. Having literally eaten all over the island, it’s something that we don’t spoil ourselves to often with considering all the amazing food options out there.
During out time in Oahu, Nadia thought it best to at least have one fine dining experience. I knew she had one particular place in mind and suggested Alan Wong’s. She didn’t even seem phased at my reply and feigned surprise as if she never heard of them. I simply mentally rolled my eyes and chuckled as she made reservations.
It’s funny how you remember certain things about a place, typically the best parts minus the less that perfect details. In this particular case, I totally forgot that Alan Wong’s isn’t at the beach or high rise building or even a hotel. I pulled up to an office building in downtown and had the car parked as we took the elevator to an enclosed 2nd floor.
What I do remember, as the elevator doors opened, was the inviting ambiance of a restaurant that was waiting to “wow” us with their sustainable culinary expertise showcasing the island’s freshest harvest.

Alan Wong’s Restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of an unassuming office building on King Street in the Mccully Area of Honolulu on the Island of Oahu.
What to Do There
Go Alan Wong’s to celebrate a special occasion and indulge in farm and ocean fresh ingredients put together by an innovative culinary team. As always, I’d advise to go with few expectations however with their price tag, there’s certain standards that should maintained.
Our experience there was nothing short of amazing and everything came out just right. Who knew sustainable foods could taste so good!?!? Don’t forget to try a cocktail while you’re there to flesh out your meal.
