There’s a market around here that serves foie.
You had me at foie.
Mercado de la Paz tl;dr
- Foie Tapas
- Modern Madrid Market
- 3 Floors of Culinary Offers to Serve You
I just wanted some foie! And you’d think it would be more commonly available, at least I did. Perhaps I simply didn’t know where to look. Nadia told me that there was a market that sold foie pinxtos…
Other than portions, there are pinxtos or is it pinchos or racions?
The best that I can tell is that it all depends on who is making it and what region the food comes from. And yes, typically the tapas are the smaller sized dish.
Where Is It
Northeast of the Madrid’s city center in the Chueco foodie area you’ll find 3 levels of renovated food market. A short walk from the Chueco station is the food filled market.
What to Eat
They have everything to serve all your local and foreign tastes. The lower floors cater to cooking for the party you’re hosting supplying you with super fresh ingredients. While on the upper floors is for when you’re hosting something at the market itself, be it for a party of 1 or for more.
Let me tell you, when I get hungry, there’s a stomach party that needs to be entertained.
Remember I came looking for foie. So I found, and I ate foie! This Foie stall 23 served so many foie pinxtos.
Toss Up
I really wanted to like this place more. Perhaps the next time I’m in town, we’ll check out what the nightlife is like since I’ve been to Mercado de San Miguel a number of times already. I see that there could be some potential for lively music upstairs but it’s just so far from where I’m staying to warrant coming back at night without knowing for sure.
