Flying Into Austin Airport
This is a funky little airport.
More importantly they have music, beer and BBQ.
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport tl;dr
Walking into this airport I loved the open concept of this airport. There are just large windows everywhere allowing lots of bright light to shine throughout! From places like Cinnabon to bars all over the place, I can definitely see myself relaxing around here and waiting for my flights with a drink in my hand. If it’s your first time here, if you go to the baggage claim floor, you can always ask the information desk for some details.
Unfortunately the guy that works it wasn’t very friendly nor excited to answer our questions though he will still give you the details you need for whatever your question may be. Going in, we were surprised by the art work that we found. JM was pleasantly surprised by how similar the boat below reminded him of the Starblazers cartoon.
Otherwise, getting to downtown from here was relatively painless once we got our bearings. Departing out of here was equally pleasant, if not more so with the live music and time to enjoy some last minute Austin fare.
F8T Tip Get your Salt Lick BBQ fix here at the airport instead of driving all the way to Driftwood.
