Packing Suggestions

  • Sunglasses | Hat | Bug spray | Sandals

  • Bathing suit (you never know!)
  • A nicer outfit (i.e. Polo/pants for guys and casual/nice dinner dress for Saturday night)
  • Casual outfits for during the days – loose clothing tends to be best

F8T Tips for Penang

  • It will be HOT, always be prepared with sunglasses, sunscreen and/or a hat
  • Bring comfortable walking shoes, there will be quite a bit of walking
  • CASH IS KING– most hawkers in Penang only accept cash, while credit cards may be used at restaurants/cafes, etc.
  • Most of the places we will be eating (with the exception of dinner and bars, will need cash). Suggest to exchange to MYR (ringgit)
    • Easiest is to exchange some before you come
    • Pull $ from the ATM at the airport
    • Exchange from money changers all around Penang
