Day 1 | George Town

• 5:35pm: AirAsia Flight
• 8:00pm: Arrive in Penang and take Grab cars to the hotel
• 8:00pm: Check into Le Dream Hotel
• 9:00pm: Dinner at Red Garden (local hawker fare)
• 10:30pm: Go for drinks! Visit Out of Nowhere (walkable bar located near the hotel)

Day 2

• 8:00am: Breakfast at the hotel
• 9:30am: Leave hotel for Penang Hill
• 12:45pm: Eat assam laksa at Air Itam Laksa
  • This is where Bourdain visited while in Penang

• 1:30pm: Visit Kek Lok Si Temple
  • Hike the 1.5 hour Penang Hill’s Railway Middle Station Trail up to Penang Hill
  • Jump onto tram for free at the Middle Station
• 2:30pm-3:15pm: Shower, relax and have free high tea at the hotel
• 3:15pm: Take Grab over to Siam Paradise
• 3:30pm-6:00pm: Massages at Siam Paradise (2.5 hour package), options include (can also do a la carte)

  • Confirmed- Tickets purchased and booked (MYR 18 per person)
• 12:00pm: Head back to town and drop by Famous Chendul and Ice Kacang
• 12:30pm: Take a Grab to Lorong Seratus Tahun Curry Mee
• 3:00pm: Free Time! Choose your own adventure!
  • Walk around town
    • See some famous Penang Street Art 
    • Walk to Clan Jetties (traditional stilt houses)
  • Get another massage treatment at Siam Paradise (round #2)
  • Penang is known for adorable dessert/coffee shops
  • Explore George Town and check out cute cafes

• 5:00pm: Go back to the hotel to pick up luggage
• 5:15pm: Leave hotel with luggage and head to Penang Airport
• 7:25pm: AirAsia Flight AK1729 leaves Penang for Singapore
• 9:00pm: Arrive in Singapore

F8T Tips for Penang

• It will be HOT, always be prepared with sunglasses, sunscreen and/or a hat
• Bring comfortable walking shoes, there will be quite a bit of walking
• CASH IS KING– most hawkers in Penang only accept cash, while credit cards may be used at restaurants/cafes, etc.
• Most of the places we will be eating (with the exception of dinner and bars, will need cash). Suggest to exchange to MYR (ringgit)
  • Easiest is to exchange some before you come
  • Pull $ from the ATM at the airport
  • Exchange from money changers all around Penang
