Kauai’s Great Snorkeling Spot at Lawa’i Beach
How many snorkeling spots does this one make?

All the islands are blessed with coastlines filled with snorkeling spots to occupy all your time. I know it took up as much of our vacation we could spare. And Lawa’i Beach was one of many places we went looking for the perfect snorkeling spot.
Nadia and I had come down from the northern part of the island stopping at every snorkeling spot we could find. Down in the south, we heard from the local surf shop that sold us fish food that there was a place to find some fish by the Beach House Restaurant further down the road.
We drove down and circled around when we found the restaurant and lucked out with parking. I was a little anxious given it’s the first time to this beach but it was all for naught since everything worked out so well. The rocky shore was a bit unnerving but manageable.
Once we got into the water with the fish food, the fish came a runnin to make our acquaintance. And there they went once the food ran out. Such is life! Fortunately for me there was a bit of life on the ocean floor that had a harder time of leaving my view.
What is It
Lawa’i Beach is one of the many hidden water gems you’ll find along the Hawaiian coastlines. There’s always some place to find if you take the time to stop and look around for them. Just be sure to have your water wear ready!
There’s a reef just off the rocky shore where you could find some tropical fish. I’ve heard you may find a turtle but we didn’t this time around.
What I did find was some amazing sky views while I snorkeled around. It’s funny the things you find when you’re out searching for other things.
Where is It
Lawa’i Beach is located on the southside of Kauai. If you head down that way and drive along the water, it’ll be hard to miss. Just stop at a beautiful view. One of them will be the Lawa’i Beach.
I’m sure you’ll find more magical spots along the way.
I don’t think there will ever be a perfect snorkeling spot, but it’s not about the destination but the journey.
