Seafood Cioppino Family Tradition at the Fish Market

by May 5, 2013

It’s May 4th and I’ll kick off this blog post by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome Dad!

It’s my birthday too…

May Happy Birthday!

Every year when it’s a birthday of anyone in my family, we often allow the birthday person to choose where they want to eat. Last night was no exception, for my Dad’s birthday, his choice was to go to the Fish Market in Santa Clara. While there, one of my parents and my favorite dishes is the one pictured above, the seafood cioppino.

This dish is as delicious and ginormous as it looks in the photo. It can easily be split and shared by two people. Pair that with the house sourdough and you have a great meal on your hands.

For those that know me, they know how much I just adore seafood! I’ve had cioppino many places and none actually compare to this for the variety, price and value. The cioppino here is filled with fish, mussels, crab, scallops, shrimp and octopus, a seafood lovers dream bowl! All in a great marinara sauce. If you choose, you can also have add pasta on the bottom (here its served with a linguine) and you have a full meal.

The Fish Market also has an amazing happy hour so if you’re into $1.25 oysters, seafood at great prices and adult beverages, I’d highly recommend checking it out.
