Everything, everyplace, everyone, has something uniquely special that makes them unique. Tugu Malang Hotel is no exception to that observation. Actually they have a couple things. And one of them is tea time.

Teatime is a great time to collect yourself, calm the nerves, and more importantly, refresh yourself on snacks. In the Tugu Tea House, there are a lot of both drink and daily dessert options.

Where Is It

If you’re a guest at the Tugu Malang Hotel, the Tugu Tea House is conveniently located on the 2nd floor above the lobby area.

What Is It

The Tea House is essentially consists of an indoor and outdoor furnished lounge area which can host up to around 25 odd people. Teatime is provided daily between the hours of 4pm to 6pm. They have:

• Tea
• Coffee
• Herbal Drinks
• Snacks
• Desserts

What Do They Have

They have really outdone themselves here at Tugu! The Tea House is quite literally a smaller, more personalized, Javanese tea version of Starbucks. They have nearly everything you could want for tea and desserts without the need to pay for anything.

They have every kind tea flavor and little local desserts under the Indonesian sun available to you for your endless consumption. There’s even a special rotating tea available which I asked for to ease the burden of choosing; I had vanilla tea and it was glorious!

I tried to have it all and lost.

The snacks were endless in both variety and quantity. Looking back, I’m not quite sure but I think when an item ran out, they simply restocked with inventory they stored elsewhere or they MADE SOME MORE right there and then.

It was like I was a child let loose inside a *insert your favorite thing here* store!

Can’t Get Enough

If ever I’m back this way, I’ll always schedule my days around Tugu Tea House Teatime. Only disaster or some other life altering event could pull me away from this short of overstuffing myself on Javanese goodies. You should try it out too!
